History |
| The Celtic Media Centre is the newest venture of The Celtic Group. It is Louisiana’s first full-service, state-of-the-art studio facility. The Celtic Media Centre was built from the ground up and is managed to meet the exacting requirements and standards of the international motion picture production industry. |
| The project began in 2006 when Brendan O’Connor, CEO of The Celtic Group, saw an opportunity with a partially completed building and Louisiana’s generous Entertainment Industry Development tax credits. Using the shell of a building originally intended as a music recording studio, the O’Connor Building became the operational hub of the Media Centre. It is now the home of Stages 1 and 2, as well as a 50-seat screening room, ADR and Foley recording stages, Raleigh Baton Rouge operations, studio commissary and kitchen. Several industry-related tenants also now call The O’Connor Building home. |
From 2006 to 2008, the lot grew and changed dramatically. The Shannon Building (Stage 8) was completed and The Rebecca Building (Stage 5) followed shortly after. The Oak Tree Building was another advantageous addition to the property, offering 25,000 square feet of space devoted to production offices and bullpen space. Our entire lot now consists of 20 acres in the heart of Baton![]() Phase 2 will include two additional buildings, Caitlin (stages 3 & 4) and Brianna (stages 6 & 7), to be completed by the end of 2009. The Celtic Media Centre has partnered with Raleigh Studios to manage nation’s largest independent production studio. They currently boast 37 sound stages and production facilities across the country and internationally. Since 1915, Raleigh Studios has played a central role in creating and supporting the entertainment industry, and they will continue to do so in Baton Rouge.![]() ![]() ![]() |
